Microbiological Reference Materials
Reference materials (RM) are used to check the quality of analyses. These materials are used to check the quality of microbiological analyses. Results can be plotted on a control card, so analysts can see whether quality is adequately assured.
CHEK has earned formal accreditation from the Dutch Accreditation Council for the production of eleven microbiological reference materials (registration code P001). Our scope is available on their website at www.rva.nl.
Process
All microbiological reference materials are tested and guaranteed for homogeneity and stability. Our procedures comply with the requirements of the International Standard ISO Guide 34:2009 (General requirements for the competence of reference material producers). These materials can be ordered at any time. As soon as the order is verified along with your information, the materials will be shipped on dry ice. The reference materials are accompanied by a certificate, which provides the property values and all the relevant information. All microbiological reference materials are stored at –80°C and packed per 10 vials of 1.5 ml. Most of the microbiological reference materials have a one-year shelf life. For more information download the User manual for microbiological reference materials.
Available reference materials
CHEK developed and offers 16 different kinds of microbiological reference materials in milk. The expected range is between 100 - 10.000 cfu/ml, depending on the method used. The next microbiological reference materials are available:
