MRSA in meat and other products of animal origin
Research carried out by the VWA (2007/2008) shows that MRSA can be present in small quantities in raw meat. In the majority of cases this is the variant which is also found in livestock farming (NT-MRSA). MRSA types which are not associated with livestock farming were found in one in six cases.
