Invasive plants
The magnitude and frequency of species introductions beyond their native range has increased dramatically with the expansion of global trade. A similar increase in ‘new’ plant species (‘naturalised’ or ‘casual’) can be observed in the Netherlands. Global warming resulting in climatic change may well accelerate this process.
